I’m trying to induce for the first time. I’m 24 and have never had children so I’m not even sure if it’s possible to produce milk. My husband and I would like to get to the point where he can drink from me. We attempted to induce a few times before, but always gave up after a while because we had no success. This time we are both really hoping to make it happen. We are using a tens unit for daytime stimulation and then he suckles every night. I don’t know what else to do to get started. I have heard people talk about domperidone but I’m not sure how to go about getting it without telling my dr what we are doing, we live in a small conservative town and I’m not sure how the Dr would react to hearing that I want to induce lactation. Any tips and advice would be appriciated, Id love to be producing milk and actually getting a flow in the next few months.

I breast feed three kids but that was 30+ years ago. I’ve recently decided to re-establish lactation for multiple reasons. I’ve been using a breast pump for two months now without success but because of my work the schedule is sporadic. Initially my nipples were very tender, my breast felt slightly heavier, and there was a sparse bit of fluid out after about two weeks but I switched to a pump that could be battery powered since I travel frequently and things seemed to slow down. I’m taking Zantac x2 a day to see if that would stimulate it but it just doesn’t seem to work. I would really like any suggestions to help this along.

Hello Ashley! I just started to induce for the first time about 3 weeks ago and was wondering if you could update us on your experience so far? I just started with a TENS unit while I am at work and use a pump and massage the rest of the time unless my hubby is around to help. Seeing some changes in breast tissue so I’m encouraged. Have you had any luck bringing your milk in since your last post? Any insight you can provide is much appreciated!
